The federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Texas counterpart, the Texas Solid Waste Disposal Act, govern the ongoing management of the disposal of solid and hazardous waste. RCRA and the Texas Solid Waste Disposal Act and the rules promulgated pursuant to them can be complicated. Our attorneys stay up-to-date on the interpretations of waste management laws, share their opinions, and are highly regarded in the area.

Keith Hopson is an experienced environmental attorney who is noted by peers for his extensive trial experience, particularly in the area of hazardous waste-related disputes.” Chambers USA 2009.

These are just a few of the ways our attorneys lead in the area of waste management and other environmental issues.

We represent clients in both state and federal courts and before environmental agencies. With respect to the RCRA, we have:

  • Defended property owners against claims for site cleanup costs
  • Represented private landowners against cost recovery actions alleging contamination and related damages caused by leaking underground storage tanks brought by private landowners and by state agencies
  • Defended enforcement actions under RCRA.
